Home Remedies for Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when oil and dead skin cells clog the skin's pores. It affects areas containing the largest oil glands, including the nose, forehead, cheeks, chin, back, and trunk. Ninety percent of teenagers get acne. However, men and women in their 30s and 40s can also suffer. Its a catch-all term for a variety of symptoms such as wrinkles, whiteheads , blackheads, blemishes, rashes, inflammations , eczema, psoriasis , discoid lupus erythematosus etc. Causes of Acne are Genetically,  Hormonous, Bacterial (Propionibacterium acnes). After washing your face with fresh water and drying by hot wet towel compresses and  on the skin. And then use home remedies.

Home Remedies for Acne/pimples
For the purpose of acne relief, usually a paste of neem is applied to the affected area, because neem could kill the bacteria that cause acne (P. acnes) but it could also contribute to acne by clogging pores.
A combination therapy comprising of neem leaves and turmeric powder (application as a paste) for acne relief.A pure Neem leaf powder mixed with water can be applied to effected areas of skin with cotton buds to quickly clear many skin complaints.
Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball, leave for half an hour and wash. Repeat for 15-20 days.
Aloe Vera juice applied twice a day can greatly speed up the healing of acne lesions.
Fenugreek Leaves - A paste of fresh leaves applied over the face every night and washed with warm water prevents wrinkles, blackheads, whiteheads, dryness, etc.
Daily application of Mung Seeds paste  will diminish the visibility of skin irregularities including age spots, and applied on the face is an ideal prevention for formation of blackheads, whiteheads, wrinkles etc. It also helps in dryness. It is an excellent face wash & cleanser.
Cucumber Juice alone or mixed with juices of carrot, lettuce or alfalfa when applied over the face is excellent home remedy for wrinkles.
The outer cover (endocarp) of Almond Oil (2-3) can be ground with water & applied over the face daily. This is good for removing scars of old wrinkles.
Grind orange peel with some water to a paste and apply on affected parts.
Fresh juice of apricots applied on your face, its helps to repair environmentally stressed or sun-damaged skin.It is also good for itching, exzema and natural cystic acne treatment.
Bengal Gram Powder (flour) mixed with curds is also a very effective treatment for wrinkle & other skin infections.Daily use will result in smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin.
Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.
Place strawberry leaves on the acne, the alkalinity helps to reduce the swelling.
Green Gram powder flour, mixed in water or glycerine is an excellent face wash to remove dirt without skin irritation and also a very effective bleach for a good complexion.
Apply fresh lemon juice on the affected area overnight. Wash off with warm water next morning.
Apply ripe Tomatoes pulp on acne, pimples and kept upto 1 hour, then wash.
Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.
Mix lime juice and rose water in equal portions. Apply on affected area, and let it stay for about half an hour. Wash the face with fresh water. About 15 days application helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.
Another method is to massage the face with the skin of lemon before washing with lukewarm water.
Papaya Mix 1 tablespoon groundnut oil with 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice to prevent formation of blackheads and acne .
Grind nutmeg (jaiphal) with unboiled milk and apply on acne for 1-2 hours.Pimples should disappear without leaving a mark.
Note for Acne Prevention
Do not squeeze pimples.

A diet comprising of high fiber content (salads, wheat), fruits, nuts and foods high in alpha lipoic acid (Liver and Brewer’s yeast) and bioflavanoids can be beneficial in the treatment of acne.
Drinking wheatgrass juice can help fight acne and many other diseases and disorders.
Avoid products such as milky cleansers, cold creams, lipsticks, and lip gloss that contain oils.
Drink 7-10 glasses of water a day.
Regular exercise, good night sleep, Yoga, Art of Living and drumming effect can also contribute significantly to the prevention and treatment of acne.
